The
Chamber Orchestra of the Springs is a non-profit community chamber
orchestra, currently celebrating more than 20 seasons.
Its mission is to provide great chamber music to music lovers of the
Pikes Peak region.
The orchestra performs a variety of music: great classics,
forgotten gems of the past, and new music recently composed by
Colorado Springs composers.
Our repertoire extends across four centuries of musical excellence.
The orchestra currently performs five programs per year,
frequently accompanying accomplished professional musicians from
around the United States.
Guest appearances have included
Colorado Springs Symphony artists
Rebecca Lee, violin;
Michael Yopp, French horn;
Catherine Staton, viola; and
Paul Nagem, flute.
Also performing in recent concerts are recording artists
Susan Grace, piano, and
Music Director of Colorado College;
William Pfund, trumpet, the University of Northern Colorado;
Kevin Hekmatpanah, cello, Gonzaga University;
and Colorado Springs organists Carol Wilson and
Ed Ladouceur.
Also, the 2002/3 and 2003/4 seasons featured a collaboration with the
Colorado Springs Conservatory.
Under the baton of Music Director Thomas Wilson,
the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs has achieved the highest artistic
performance level in its history.
We would be pleased to welcome you to our concerts and,
as we say on our logo, to share with you our
"Love of Music."
