AMAHL and the NIGHT VISITORS by Gian Carlo Menotti
with the Colorado Springs Conservatory

For their second annual collaboration, the Colorado Springs Conservatory and the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs will perform "Amahl and the Night Visitors" this holiday season. This story of the crippled shepherd boy who offers his most prized possession, his crutch, as his gift to the "Child" and is in turn healed, continues to move all who see it. Mayor Lionel Rivera and other community leaders, from the various venues, will make cameo appearances. Students from Zachs Place and from the Boys and Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region will join students, instructors and graduates from the Conservatory as members of the cast. Thomas Wilson will lead the Chamber Orchestra in this hour of incredible collaborative effort.

This work has a heartfelt message that the Conservatory and Chamber Orchestra hope to bring to as many of the public sector as possible. For this reason, this one act opera will be performed at several locations in the Colorado Springs area. Thanks to many local sponsors all performances will be free. Food donations to Care and Share will be gratefully accepted at each performance venue.
