Lauren Robinson, Horn

Lauren Robinson is delighted to join the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs as Principal Horn. Passionate about performing engaging and non-standard repertoire, she looks forward to playing many exciting concerts with the orchestra. She also holds positions as Principal Horn with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and section horn with the Colorado Ballet. Additionally, she has performed with the New Mexico Philharmonic, Colorado Music Festival, Santa Fe Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, New World Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and Buffalo Philharmonic.

Originally from New Jersey, she started playing horn at age nine and soon developed a lasting adoration for classical music fueled by collecting and listening to hundreds of orchestral CDs . She was fortunate to study with Andrea Menousek of the New Jersey Symphony before pursuing her undergraduate degree at Eastman under the tutelage of Peter Kurau. After receiving her Bachelors of Music, she obtained a Masters of Music at Juilliard while studying with Philadelphia Orchestra principal horn, Jennifer Montone. Outside of music she enjoys constantly reading, learning botanical illustration and wandering nature.
