October 2009 Season Premiere
The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs is grateful for your continued encouragement and steadfast support. 2010 was a stellar year for the growth of the orchestra and our growing recognition as a cultural center for vibrant chamber music in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. We ended last season with a sold-out Garden Party concert featuring a repeat performance of the Siegfried Idyll. We started the new season with 270 season ticket subscribers, with each of our concerts followed by a buzz of excited satisfaction.
Thanks to our supporters, we are proudly operating within a sound financial framework as we plan for the future. Our ticket revenue covers around 40% of our performance costs (a very robust ratio by industry standards). Individual donations, foundation grants and revenue from special orchestra for hire projects make up the difference. Additionally, our musicians donate a significant amount of their personal time to make our orchestra a success. Even though ticket prices cover only a part of our modest budget, we keep our ticket prices within easy reach, especially for students and seniors. Many supporters and season subscribers are aware of this funding gap and send in additional donations with ticket purchases, for which we are extremely grateful.
