THE ROMANTIC VOICE

An Evening of Roman-ticism

Mezzo-soprano GeDeane Graham joins us for a concert steeped in Romanticism. She will sing Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder - a song cycle that later formed the basis for parts of his famous opera Tristan und Isolde. We’ll also celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s first symphony, and perform Adolphus Hailstork’s neo-Romantic take on a 17th-century style of chamber music for religious meditation.

Adolphus Hailstork — Sonata da Chiesa
Richard Wagner — Wesendonck Lieder, WWV 91
Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy — Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, op. 11
