Season Premiere: American Soundscapes
October 12  and 13
The Chamber Orchestra roars into its 30th Anniversary Season with a big American sound and an all-American program. Our leading composers of the Twentieth Century–Copland, Ives, and Barber–come together in a diverse concert with familiar and not-so-familiar works. Shivers Artist EdKelly Sanford will join the orchestra for Barber’s haunting and dynamic Violin Concerto, while the orchestra gives the local premiere of Ives’ Third and Copland’s Second Symphonies. This is a rare opportunity to hear definitive performances of works so amazing you’ll wonder where this music has been all your life!

Pure Elegance
November 23 and 24
Pure elegance in sight and sound come together of an evening of music from Italy, France and England.  Respighi’s musical depiction of Renaissance painter Alessandro Botticelli’s greatest works is a singular experience in visual and musical art. Fresh from a year teaching cello in Paris, Gerald Miller brings a unique perspective to Saint-Saëns’ rarely heard Suite for Cello and Orchestra, while the Chamber Orchestra delivers lyric performances of music by Elgar and Ravel.

The Bold Baroque
January 25 and 26
This is The Bold Baroque–music of kings from the minds of some of the most amazing composers of the Eighteenth Century. Bach and Handel headline a program of stunning works that will have the rafters shaking and you heart soaring. Soprano Angela Malek, a specialist in Baroque repertoire, brings us three astonishing arias by Handel that demonstrate his full range of writing for solo voice.

Ode to Joy!

In the biggest concert of the season, the Chamber Orchestra celebrates thirty years with a triumphal performance of Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony. Audience members are still talking about the last itme Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble and the Chamber Orchestra collaborated in music of Morten Lauridsen, whose breathtaking style returns to our stage with Deborah Teske conducting his Mid-Winter Songs. This is the biggest event of our season–not to be missed!

Season Finale: New Traditions
April 26 and 27
The 30th Anniversary Season ends in triumph as the Chamber Orchestra welcomes Colorado Springs native Jesse McCormick back home. Today, Mr. McCormick is one of the finest horn players in the world, performing with the world-class Cleveland Orchestra. Two diverse and exciting works for horn and orchestra join Schumann’s Fourth Symphony to bring the season to a glorious finish. The program will kick off with the world premiere of the winner of the Chamber Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary Season Composition Competition–a work written especially for our orchestra to celebrate three decades of great music.
