Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) for Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
If you are age 70½ or older, IRS rules require you to take Required Minimum Distribution (RMDs) each year from your tax-deferred retirement accounts. This additional taxable income may push you into a higher tax bracket and may also reduce your eligibility for certain tax credits and deductions. To eliminate or reduce the impact of RMD income, charitably inclined investors may want to consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). A QCD is a transfer of funds from an IRA, payable to a qualified charity, as described in the QCD provision in the Internal Revenue Code. Amounts distributed as a QCD can be counted toward satisfying your RMD for the year, up to $100,000, and can also be excluded from your taxable income. The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs is a qualified charity and is very grateful to receive QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION donations.  We are ready to help during this process and listen to the wishes of our donors. Our address for making a gift is as follows: Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, PO Box 7911, Colorado Springs, CO 80933-7911. Our EIN is as follows: 74-2258729.  The Chamber Orchestra does not give tax or legal advice, and we always recommend that donors consult their own professional tax advisor before making a gift.
