THE MUSICIANS

Allison Gioscia, flute
Allison Gioscia is the principal flutist of the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and the second flutist of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, and can often be seen performing with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.  Previously, she was the principal flutist of the Orquesta UNINORTE in Asunción, Paraguay, and Professor of Flute at the Universidad Evangélica del Paraguay. She has performed across the United States with organizations such as Opera in the Ozarks (Eureka Springs, AR), the Nebraska Theatre Caravan (Omaha, NE), and the Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra (Pittsburgh, PA), including several national tours and a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Internationally, she has performed across South America and at the Sala Mozart in Zaragoza, Spain.
As a soloist, Allison was invited to perform at the National Flute Association conventions in 2017 and 2018. She has been featured as a concerto soloist in Paraguay with the Orquesta de Cámara Municipal de Asunción and the Orquesta UNINORTE, and in Colorado with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs.

Angie Burtz, oboe
After completing her master’s degree at Kent State University as a student of Jeffrey Rathbun, Angie moved to Montana to play principal oboe with the Great Falls Symphony and Chinook Winds Quintet. She subsequently played principal oboe with the Las Cruces Symphony and English horn with the El Paso Symphony and Opera and taught oboe at New Mexico State University. She has performed with a variety of ensembles, including Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra, Santa Cruz Symphony, Monterey Symphony, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. She currently plays principal oboe with Chamber Orchestra of the Springs.

Heike Gazetti, clarinet
Heike Gazetti hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, and has enjoyed performing with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs since 2009. Also a member of the Air Force Academy Band for the last twenty-two years, she has played in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Academy Winds and Rampart Winds woodwind quintets, Polaris Winds reed quintet, and most recently the Rockies Clarinet Quartet. In 2009, Heike deployed for two months with “Mirage,” an eight-member wind and percussion ensemble, to Southwest Asia. The group entertained US troops, coalition forces, diplomatic audiences, community members, and students of all ages in 5 countries. Heike performs chamber music whenever possible with the wind quartet from the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and the Underground Clarinet Quartet. She has also played with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Colllins Symphony, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.  Heike began her musical studies with Louisville Orchestra clarinetist Dallas Tidwell, and went on to study clarinet with Charles Neidich, Ayako Oshima, and David Shifrin at the Yale University School of Music. She has also studied with Bil Jackson and Dennis Smylie at the Aspen Music Festival, and, most recently, with Colorado Springs Philharmonic clarinetist Sergei Vassiliev.

Fletcher Forehand, bassoon
Bassoonist Fletcher Forehand joined the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs in 2015, and became principal bassoon in 2018. He also occasionally plays utility bassoon or contrabassoon with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Previous positions include Atlanta Opera Orchestra, Asheville Symphony Orchestra, Savannah Philharmonic, and the Tuscaloosa Symphony, as well as the Pandean Players chamber ensemble. Fletcher has degrees from Oberlin College and Carnegie Mellon University, with George Sakakeeny and Nancy Goeres as primary teachers. Festival experience includes three summers in Aspen as a contra fellow, which heavily influenced his decision to move to Colorado.
