As of today, the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs has decided to accept only video applications for our 2021 Young Artist Competition.
What this means to you:
- You must record a video performance (any location is fine) with piano accompaniment that is filmed specifically for the judges for this competition (no previous recordings or filming). Video must be dated between September 30, 2020 and March 31, 2021. Phone videos are fine.
- Video must be done in one take with no editing.
- Video must be uploaded to YouTube and set to unlisted. The YouTube link should be emailed to chamorch@gmail.com by midnight on March 31st. No late video links will be accepted.
- Competitors will be judged on performance only, not video quality. Obviously, the highest quality of audio is preferable so that dynamics, articulation, etc are distinguishable to the judges. However, we know that video presents challenges. Just do the best you can with what you have available to you.
- By midnight on March 31, 2021, please scan your music and email it to chamorch@gmail.com. JPG and PDF formats are preferable. If you don't know how to do this, there is a free app called CAMSCANNER which can easily scan unusual sizes of music and convert them to an easy to use format. (Sending the music scan and video link in the same email is preferable, if possible, but not required)
- At the beginning of your video, please announce your name and repertoire.
- All other original rules apply (such as memorization, etc).
