HEART OF LIFE

The winner of our 2025 Emerging Soloist Competition takes the stage for one of the most blisteringly virtuosic pieces of music in all the piano repertoire.

Nothing short of Beethoven’s best overture will do to open the concert, and we’ll close with the music of the oft-overlooked Emilie Mayer – frequently called the “female Beethoven” for her depth of Romantic feeling and lyricism.

Ludwig van Beethoven — Leonore Overture No. 3
Franz Liszt — Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, S.124
Emilie Mayer — Symphony No. 7 in F minor

RUN TIME: 1 hour, 38 minutes (including intermission)
