STRONG AT THE BROKEN PLACES

One of America’s greatest living composers joins historical giants in our season finale – Mazzoli’s These Worlds In Us honors her father’s military service, and takes inspiration from the poetry of James Tate.

Considerably older verses underpin Finzi’s melancholy memorial for his brother and teacher, before we close with the next of the Chamber Orchestra’s turn through the Haydn “London” symphonies.

Missy Mazzoli — These Worlds In Us
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major, K.364
Gerald Finzi — Farewell to Arms, op. 9
Franz Joseph Haydn — Symphony No. 100 in G major “Military”
