UNTOLD STORIES

If two is company and three is a crowd, what do you call a concert with ten soloists? It’s nothing short of an extravaganza, highlighting the incredible local talent within the Chamber Orchestra’s ranks.

Half of the soloists will share the stage for Valentini’s famous concerto grosso – a Baroque musical form that contrasts a small group with the full orchestra. The other soloists will feature in Valerie Coleman’s Phenomenal Women, which takes inspiration from the poetry of Maya Angelou and the legacies of incredible American women.

Heinrich von Biber — Battalia
Valerie Coleman — Phenomenal Women
Giuseppe Valentini — Concerto for 4 Violins & Viola in A minor, op. 7, no. 11
Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga — Symphony in D major
